I myself have faced this problem so I thought it would not hurt me to put together a guide to help the fellow players. I will be including several ways which you can use to tackle and solve this error in CS:GO. So without further ado, let’s get to it.

What is CS:Go Corrupt Download Error?
The corrupt download has been a problem for many users who bought CS:GO and then not be able to play it at ease. If you want to know how to detect this problem, below are the 3 signs which you should be looking for. Basically when you will try to install the game,
- It might just keep installing (the process won’t complete ever)
- Installation may pause on it’s own or stop completely
- it might get installed and you will be able to play the game for a little while and then all of a sudden you will get “Missing files” error and then you will just face the first two issues again
- If you get this message: “Corrupt download, delete and re-download the match” while trying to download the demos in the game
How to Fix CSGO Corrupt Download, Delete and Redownload the Match Problem
Now the important thing to note here is that people have solved this issue by trying different methods. I will share all the working fixes of the csgo corrupt demo download error so if one doesn’t work for you, you can try the next one and so on.
Fix 1: Transfer & Delete contents of CS:GO ‘cache‘ folder
- First of all you need to open the folder where you have installed the CS:GO game on your PC
- Here’s the path: ‘C’ Drive >> Program Files (x86) >> Steam >> SteamApps >> common >> Counter -Strike Global Offensive >> csgo >> cache
- Once the ‘cache’ folder is opened, cut all the contents (files, folders etc.) from it
- Go back to the previous folder (i.e “csgo”) and paste all the contents there
Now try downloading the demo matches. If it works for you, just delete the pasted files from the “csgo” folder to be on the safe side.
Fix 2: Transfer & Delete contents of CS:GO ‘replays‘ folder
- First of all you need to open the folder where you have installed the CS:GO game on your PC
- Here’s the path: ‘C’ Drive >> Program Files (x86) >> Steam >> SteamApps >> common >> Counter -Strike Global Offensive >> csgo >> replays
- Once the ‘replays‘ folder is opened, find the latest .INFO file (last game you played)
The problem here is that the game you are trying to retrieve will probably NOT have a .DEM file associated with it that is the reason that you cannot download the match, but once you do the next step the system will create one for you and you will be able to replay it.
- In the final step, all you need to do is go back one step to the “csgo” folder and paste that .INFO file, this now should enable you to download the game
Fix 3: Verify the Integrity of Game Cache in CS:GO
- Open CS:GO and delete any “Saved” matches
- Close CS:GO, and right click on it in your library
- Select “Properties” and go to “Local Files“
- Hit “Verify Integrity of Game Cache…“
Once done, try downloading the matches again and you will be able to do it very smoothly without any problems.
